Sourced figures: prices in the table carry their source and check month. A published rate is not a quote and not our offer, and nothing here is legal advice.

On some boats only. Vela and Lamima publish rates that include national park entrance fees, while the Phinisi 50 listing excludes them and one Komodo operator guide says they are almost never in the boat price. Assume nothing either way: ask for the offer to name each park charge and who pays it.

Are park fees included in the charter rate?

On some published rates only: the wording falls into two camps, and a third source describes the wider fleet. Read the exact sentence on the page you are relying on, because "park fees" can mean the guest ticket alone or a wider set of charges.

Are park fees included in the charter rate?
SourceWhat it says about park feesWhat to do with it
Vela, operator rate pageNational park entrance fees and permits are included in the published rate.Ask which permits the word covers. The line does not list them.
Lamima, operator rate pagePark entrance and boat clearance fees are listed as included in the private charter rate. This line names a boat-side charge as well as the guest ticket, which is the level of detail to ask for elsewhere.
Phinisi 50, agent listingNational park fees are excluded, along with port fees outside home bases.Budget them separately and ask what counts as a home base for your route.
Tiare, liveaboard schedulePark and port fees are listed separately for the same Komodo cruise. This is a liveaboard schedule, so it is a contrast with private charter. Check the year on the source.
Komodo operator guideFees are charged per person or per group, often in cash, and are almost never in the boat price. The guide covers all classes of boat, so it may not describe the top of the market.

These sources do not necessarily contradict each other. The guide speaks about several hundred boats across every class, while Vela and Lamima each speak only for themselves, so treat each offer as its own case. Our page on what a luxury phinisi rate usually includes sets this line beside meals, fuel and transfers, and the list of common exclusions shows what tends to sit outside the rate.

What does a foreign visitor pay per day?

Kompas reports the ticket tariffs under Government Regulation (PP) 36/2024, effective 30 October 2024, charged per person per day. It gives separate lines for foreign visitors, Indonesian visitors, and Indonesian visitors on public holidays. All three amounts appear in the price table on this page, with the month we checked them. A regulation can change, so check the date before you rely on a figure.

The sum itself is simple: guests, multiplied by days in the park, multiplied by the tariff for each guest's category. Six foreign guests on three park days make 18 person-days. A mixed party needs two sums, and an Indonesian guest sailing over a public holiday needs a third. What the sum cannot settle is how a part day is counted, for example a boarding day or a day spent mostly outside the boundary. We have not found a source that answers this, so ask the operator to state how many park days the quote assumes.

Payment is less clear than the tariff. The Komodo operator guide says fees are often paid in cash. A second operator guide says registration through the SiOra system has been required since 1 April 2026, with no walk-in tickets, that licensed operators register their passengers, and that the name entered must match the passport exactly. One describes money and the other describes registration, so they may both hold. Neither tells you how your boat handles it. Ask who registers your party, who pays, in what form, and whether you receive anything showing the ticket was issued.

Which activity charges come on top?

Kompas reports that park rules on activities such as diving, fishing and flying a drone carry their own tickets, and that the amounts differ by activity. A rate that includes "park fees" may or may not reach these lines.

  • Diving. The second operator guide calls diving the one activity with its own charge, on top of the daily entry fee, per diver per day. Kompas names more than one such activity, so we would not rely on "the one". The figure appears in the price table on this page, and our page on diving costs covers the rest of a dive budget.
  • Guiding. The park authority says guiding at Loh Buaya on Rinca and at Gili Lawa is run by KSU Taman Nasional Komodo, with 50 naturalist guides. Its tariff is set per group of five and appears in the same table. Ask how a larger party is split.
  • Drones. The park authority requires a permit application before a drone flies inside the park. The page text gives no fee.
  • Rangers on Padar and Komodo. The official guiding page names only Loh Buaya and Gili Lawa. We could not confirm a ranger charge at the other two islands, so we print none.

Two more labels turn up on the web: a separate conservation fee and a per-person harbour fee. Two pages from the same operator group disagree about them and the Kompas report mentions neither, so we could not confirm them and this page gives no figure. If a line with one of those names reaches your quote, ask what regulation it rests on and whether a receipt will be issued.

What does the boat itself pay?

The second operator guide describes three charges that fall on the vessel: a daily vessel ticket scaled by engine size, a harbour authority charge per trip based on gross tonnage, and, since June 2026, regional taxes as a condition of sailing clearance, including 10% on accommodation and food served on board. This comes from an operator guide written for liveaboards. It is not an official document, and it may not map exactly onto a private charter.

A guest rarely sees these as separate lines, yet they have to land somewhere. They may be folded into the rate or passed through at the end. Lamima's wording shows one way of handling them, by naming boat clearance fees among its inclusions. Elsewhere, ask whether every vessel, harbour and regional charge sits inside the quoted total, and do not assume a regional tax is the same thing as the VAT shown on a rate page.

What happens if someone enters without a ticket?

The park authority announced a fine of five times the normal tariff for entry without a ticket. Kompas carried the announcement in September 2026 and quotes the acting head of the authority saying direct application may start next year. We cannot confirm that the fine is being applied today, which is why the row in our table carries that note. Its amount is for a foreign visitor, and the table shows it.

On a charter, the practical risk is a registration gap: a guest added late, or a name that does not match a passport. Agree in advance who is responsible if that happens, and send final names early. Our guide to the park rules that shape a trip covers what else the authority controls.

Where are the official figures?

Start with the park authority's tariff and carrying capacity page, which also offers the SiOra app. Its figures are published as images, so we took the amounts from the Kompas report of PP 36/2024. When you check a figure yourself, this order helps:

  1. Open the park authority's page and compare the date and the wording.
  2. Read the Kompas report for the regulation number and the categories.
  3. Treat operator guides as useful descriptions of practice, and not as the tariff.
  4. Ask your operator for whatever record of registration or payment it holds for your party.

How should an offer word the park line?

A clear offer leaves nothing to interpret. These five lines are enough, and each one should say included or excluded:

  • Entrance tickets: number of guests, number of park days, and each guest's category.
  • Activity tickets: diving, fishing and drone, each named.
  • Guides: which sites, and how groups are counted.
  • Vessel, harbour and regional charges: inside the total or passed through.
  • Payment and registration: who does each, when, and in what form.

If a tariff changes between booking and sailing, the offer should also say who carries the difference. A rate that "includes park fees" without saying so leaves that question open. Park fees are one of seven lines compared for Vela, Lamima and Phinisi 50 on our luxury phinisi Labuan Bajo page.

What else do people ask about park charges?

Are national park fees always included in a luxury phinisi rate?

No. Vela and Lamima publish rates that include them, while the Phinisi 50 listing excludes them. Check the wording of your own offer rather than the boat's class.

Do Indonesian guests pay the same ticket as foreign guests?

No. Kompas reports separate lines for foreign visitors, Indonesian visitors, and Indonesian visitors on public holidays, each charged per person per day under PP 36/2024.

Can I buy a park ticket when I arrive?

No, according to one operator guide, which says SiOra registration has been required since 1 April 2026 with no walk-in tickets and that licensed operators register their passengers. Confirm the current process with your operator.

Is the five-times fine in force now?

Not confirmed. The park authority announced it in September 2026, and Kompas quotes the acting head saying direct application may start next year.

Does the daily ticket cover diving?

No. An operator guide describes a separate charge per diver per day, and Kompas also lists diving among the activities with their own tickets.

Should I carry cash for park fees?

Ask first. One Komodo operator guide says fees are often paid in cash, while another operator guide describes registration through SiOra. Neither says how your boat handles payment, so get the method in writing.

Which published prices did we check?

Operator rate pages, agent listings and park fees, each with its source and the month we checked it. A "from" rate is a starting figure, not a quote and not our offer. Tax, season and dates change the total, so check the source before you rely on a figure.

How do I reach the desk?

If the park wording in an offer is unclear, send the desk that exact line with your dates and the number of guests in each category. Use WhatsApp 6281139414563 or bd@juaraholding.com. The desk answers by message, and only a written offer commits anyone to a boat or a figure.
